How to be more productive as a nurse advisor
Nurse
advisors often have many tasks to juggle at any given moment. Sometimes, it’s
hard to complete all these tasks, and a few are left to fall to the wayside.
However, there are ways to keep a healthy balance at work. Some methods can be
implemented to keep your sanity in check and improve productivity. To help you
make the most of your nurse advisor role so that you continue to
enjoy your work and give it your all, we’ve highlighted ways to boost
productivity whilst alleviating pressure.
Make sure you
are in a good mental and emotional state
The best way you can give your nurse advisor role your all is to take care of yourself. When you are in a good frame of mind, your abilities to think clearer and take effective action are heightened. According to the World Health Organisation, employees who have good mental health are more productive and happier at work.
This
means that your first step towards productivity is to relax! Take time in your
day to gather your wits, grab some fresh air, exercise, or meditate. Adopt
healthy habits that boost your well-being and encourage you to have the energy
and drive needed to live a happy life. From getting enough sleep to eating
wholesome foods; taking care of yourself and your work ethic will improve. Interestingly,
a healthy balanced diet boosts
overall performance by 25 per cent.
Don’t shy
away from asking for help
Successful people don’t get to where they are on their own, they ask for help. As a nurse advisor, it’s important that you build your network and form relationships with co-workers so that you have a thriving support system. Not only will you be able to learn and grow under this support, but you’ll also have a team of associates to who you can reach out when you need a healthcare assistant.
Speaking
of help, don’t shy away from technology. When it comes to productivity as a
nurse advisor, technology can have a significant impact. There are hundreds of
software programs available that can assist you with data collection,
streamlined communication, and automated marketing. In fact, Forbes Magazine deems technology as a
“considerable determinant of productivity.” Its research confirms that the right
tools will enable you to maximize your potential while streamlining your
workflow.
Improve communication
One other factor that can hinder your productivity is poor or insufficient communication. If there is a lack of understanding between you and your clients or you and your co-workers, then your productivity may be in poor form. A silly misunderstanding could cost you a whole day’s worth of work.
The
good news: there are many things you, as a nursing advisor, can do to combat
poor communication. For example, you can write out task descriptions clearly
and run them by any necessary parties before you action them. You can also make
it a habit to check in with your clients or patients and ask how things are. Last,
leverage technology to boost your communication and capture data in real-time. Improving
communications can prove valuable for your productivity and provides higher
morale.
