Therapy Area: Smoking Cessation
Responsible for achieving sales and market share targets within geographic region.
Implement strategic sales plan to capitalise upon the opportunities for growth within defined accounts. Build strong strategic relationships with Key influencers in CCGs and within the secondary care environment (focussing in particular within respiratory, maternity and mental health departments) by supporting initiatives that improve health outcomes and drive brand growth. Work closely with partner managers to ensure seamless delivery of sales plan and build synergies across NHS and OTC sectors.
Establish, implement, and drive the overall sales strategy and tactical sales plans to increase sales aligned to business plan. Develop and maintain key internal and external customer relationships and drive sales growth through personal leadership.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
To create a positive NHS environment and prescription policy to facilitate market share gains within the market.
Responsible for the implementation of the NHS business plan to grow market share and achieve annual targets and longer-term goals.
- Identify and maximise business opportunities presented by the growth in the market.
- Lead/direct third-party contacts to gain effective results in defined territory
- Map and implement a contact strategy for clinical influencers.
- Develop relationships with NHS Key influencers/KOLs, provide clinical, economic and health outcome data to establish product as No 1 smoking cessation product and turn these key customers into effective advocates.
- Develop business through partnership with the CCG and gain competitive advantage.
- Ensure company are recognised as the industry ‘experts’ within smoking Cessation.
- Project manage ventures with key accounts to drive brand and company differentiation
Internal and External Customer liaison
- Close Liaison with retail and direct third-party contacts to implement Business Plans, Maximise Sales and drive added value programmes.
- Close working with marketing team to ensure their market knowledge is current in this fast-changing market
- Develop working knowledge and relationships with other channels within the company
Business Planning and Market Analysis
- Identify and prioritise key health care accounts by business potential/ROI.
- Transform national guidelines into local programmes.
- Implementation and achievement of annual NHS plans and related KPI’s as agreed by the line manager and individual.
- Maximise business within defined budget and analyse results.
SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION
Education
Educated to degree level with experience ideally in a commercially focused Pharmaceutical sales role.
EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Working knowledge of NHS influencers.
- At least 2 years experience of working with operational management with the NHS.
- Ideally 5 years Pharmaceutical field sales experience.
- ABPI holder.
Desirable:
- Experience of working with Senior Decision makers within the NHS to achieve business outcomes
- Senior Account Management experience in the pharmaceutical or other industry
Skills:
- Leadership, Negotiation, Problem solving and influencing skills.
- Innovator, Independent, self starter who is able to work in cross-functional teams
- Must be able to demonstrate competence in influencing a broad range of stakeholders through credible, clear and logical communication.
- Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with others to gain agreement to an agreed course for action
- Strong Consultative selling and customer relationship development skills
- A proactive, problem solving and ‘Can Do’ attitude
- Ability to ‘engage’ others through clear direction.
- Strong analytical and IT skills
- Strong team skills.
