Dermatology Medical Representative
Location: Kent/East Sussex/East Surrey
Purpose of the position:
- To own the physician relationships in primary care within an agreed set of GP targets, dermatologists, pharmacies / accounts
- Identify, network, sample and detail all Dermatology stakeholders on territory
- To ensure achievement of personal objectives, including sales, market share growth and profit targets
- To achieve the territory sales targets through delivery of agreed business objectives within defined accounts and implementation of product marketing strategies
- To drive product usage with key primary and secondary care customers & to seek out new business opportunities
- To generate recommendations and prescriptions from primary and secondary care
- To detail and sell to pharmacists delivering recommendations for LRP / CeraVe products
- Field based role with occasional travel within the UK
Core Tasks:
- To achieve regional sales targets through implementing individual activity considering call rates, coverage and frequency of calling on identified customers, included but not limited to:
- Secondary care dermatologists,
- GPs and primary care prescribers and influencers
- Dermatology specialist nurses
- Community and retail pharmacists
- To develop a Territory Action Plan which clearly outlines the activities to be undertaken at territory level
- To agree clear and SMART objectives with Medical Relations Manager for specific strategic actions, and regular reviewing of achievement of those objectives, putting into place activities as required to meet those objectives
- To develop advocates for speaker meetings – attending national congresses as appropriate
- To maintain high levels of product knowledge, especially key clinical papers and customer and competitor knowledge at all times
- To participate in training programmes as appropriate
- To maintain accurate customer records & provide feedback on marketing materials / campaign
- To be aware of developments in the health environment and local issues, assessing implications and communicating to the wider team; as well as tailoring local activities to adapt strategy and tactics as appropriate
- To manage the territory AV meetings and sponsorship budgets on an on-going basis to ensure budget compliance
- To be aware of the local industry standards of practice and the L’Oréal ethics charter ensuring that all standards are met
Training / Competencies:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) – able to cope with basic science/medicine. Full and detailed understanding of the Irish healthcare environment and the commercial implications for Pharma / dermo-cosmetic companies
- IT competent to use reporting systems, email and Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), influencing / persuasiveness skills
- Excellent selling, negotiation and networking skills
- The ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability in problem-solving, pathway design and implementation and project management
Experience:
- Solid & proven track record ideally in Dermatology
- Demonstrable knowledge of customers in local area
- Medical Sales background with proven track record in driving success – primary, secondary care and key account management experience is desirable
- Experience in delivering large medical educational events
