Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic DACH Patient Access Director to lead the pre-launch patient access activities for our upcoming launch products in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), with a primary focus on the German market. This role will be based with IQVIA, a global leader in human data science, working in close collaboration with one of our partners and client a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative therapies in rare diseases.
IQVIA’s mission is to use data, technology, advanced analytics, and expertise to help healthcare stakeholders find better solutions for patients. As part of IQVIA, you will have access to cutting-edge insights and resources, working within an environment that fosters innovation and collaboration across global teams.
In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Patient Access and cross-functional teams, guiding pricing and reimbursement dossier development and managing the benefit assessment process for launch products. The role requires a deep understanding of AMNOG regulations and reimbursement pathways within the DACH region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the strategy for Early Scientific Advice meetings in collaboration with medical and external teams, including IQVIA’s support and our partner companies. This includes preparing submission documents and leading meetings with health authorities.
- Lead the preparation of AMNOG dossiers, including the analysis of clinical trial results and methodology, working alongside internal medical teams, IQVIA experts, and external vendors.
- Engage Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in dossier strategy development, preparation, and support for hearings, ensuring alignment with our partner clients and their strategic objectives.
- Identify reimbursement challenges for products in the DACH region and develop strategies, such as NUB and regional market access strategies, leveraging IQVIA’s extensive data and resources.
- Propose and manage Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Real World Evidence (RWE) projects, in collaboration with IQVIA’s advanced analytics teams, to inform pricing and support value proposition strategies.
- Build a comprehensive Patient Access Strategy Plan specific to the DACH region, which includes early access opportunities, patient community engagement, and payer engagement, using IQVIA’s vast industry knowledge and market intelligence.
- Engage with regional payers and stakeholders to secure access, following agreed strategies and plans, and supported by IQVIA’s global payer network.
- Ensure successful execution of the Patient Access Strategy Plan, adhering to timelines and deliverables, with the operational support of IQVIA and its partner clients.
- Participate in local pricing and reimbursement meetings, events, and provide feedback to inform future strategies, sharing insights across IQVIA’s broad platform.
- Contribute knowledge of HTA data and evidence generation requirements to ensure launch assets meet future needs of payers and HTAs, supported by IQVIA’s regulatory and payer expertise.
Qualifications and Experience:
- University degree in health economics, pharmaceutical science, healthcare management, natural science (e.g., biochemistry, biology), or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in patient/market access or health economics, with significant experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of the healthcare systems and market access environments in the DACH region, specifically within Germany, with a strong focus on AMNOG regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in rare disease therapy late-stage development and launch preparation, with a successful track record in Germany/DACH commercialisation.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with international teams, including collaboration with IQVIA and client partners, to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

- Strong project management skills with an analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English, with experience in conveying complex information to varied audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with strong presentation skills.
- Organised, deadline-driven, and flexible to adapt to changing priorities.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Location and Travel:
The ideal candidate should be based in Germany with in-depth experience of the German healthcare market and the wider DACH region. Travel within Germany, Austria, and Switzerland is expected.
