Business Development Manager Nordics & Baltics

  • Nordic Countries (Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark & Iceland)

Our client is a medical device company, focused on delivering clinically superior breakthrough solutions that will help patients get back to the things that matter. We are currently looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to cover the Nordics and Baltics. Our chosen candidate with be required to work in collaboration with marketing to develop the strategic and tactical plans and programs to achieve the business objectives for the respective markets. This will be achieved by the direct management of the distributors based in the region. Our Business Development Manager with also be critical to the further expansion of the Company portfolio by actively seeking and developing opportunities to drive further penetration of existing portfolio, as well as seeking additional distribution and PL opportunities in the region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the activities of the region, sales and distributors to support and drive key business activities, to ensure Sales Revenue, Gross Profit and New Product Launch Targets are delivered on time and to set objectives for identified distributor partners;
  • Coordinating and leading quarterly business reviews with sales teams and Key Distributors;
  • Overseeing business planning, driving and collaborating with EMEA marketing teams, sales management, distributor management and partners to facilitate rigorous and timely delivery of aggressive growth plans;
  • Identifying market development opportunities for the respective categories. Working with the support teams to ensure these options are dimensioned to create value for the overall pain business.
  • Consistently achieving sales results within the assigned region and with major healthcare accounts through the development of strategies and objectives, and through directing the development and implementation of tactical plans. He/she will deploy appropriate resources to achieve objectives.
  • On an ongoing basis collaborating with functional heads to innovate around value added initiatives to boost business performance, directly or indirectly, with key partners;
  • Driving a high performance culture by setting demanding and challenging personal and business objectives.


  • Minimum of 8-10 years proven success in sales, marketing and market development.  
  • Prior/current business development/ Direct sales/distributor management experience required;
  • Strong analytical skills, including financial performance evaluation, portfolio assessment and development in building sustainable regional growth.
  • Experience in building clinical KOL programs, networks and structures, supporting the investigator led clinical studies to drive market adoption and development;
  • Experience of effectively working in a matrix organization and markets would be desirable
  • Experience in people management and leadership
  • Fluency in English, Swedish and another European language desirable.  
  • High degree of initiative, professionalism, empathy and the ability to perform independently, comfortable working alone & unsupervised for periods of time
  • Outstanding communication skills and team-player
  • Evidenced problem solving skills and decision making ability
  • Ability to recognize and address process gaps
  • Willingness to travel internationally across EMEA
  • Cross-cultural awareness

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree (MBA or equivalent) strongly desirable
  • Sales, Marketing  or General management experience
  • Significant upward movement potential
