As a medical sales rep, it is vital that you retain potential clients’ interest during your pitch. Crafting the perfect medical sales pitch isn’t an easy task, so we’ve detailed the best ways you can improve your sales pitch and close those all-important deals.

Conduct preliminary research

Researching potential clients before your first medical sales pitch can make a world of difference. By studying the background of a company and the individuals that you will be presenting to, you can obtain a better understanding of what you need to include in your presentation and what potential questions may arise.

As no two potential clients will be the same, your interactions with them should also never be the same. It's vital that you take the time to collect information and then create a more tailored presentation from the very first slide. By doing the extra research, you’re adding relevancy to your pitch, making it much more likely to engage a potential client and close a deal.

Practice your tone of voice

Your tone of voice is often an aspect of a presentation that can be overlooked, however, it’s a crucial element to getting your message across. How you communicate with your prospect has a direct impact on how they will perceive you.

When you make a presentation or speak to a large group of people, it's important to have an authoritative and appealing tone of voice. A great tone of voice makes your presentation more interesting and appealing and can make you sound more confident. This in turn helps your prospect enjoy the presentation more and potentially be more likely to do business with you.

Showcase your confidence

Being nervous before a big sales pitch is completely natural, however, it’s important that you ensure that it doesn’t show in your presentation.

Showcasing your confidence starts from the moment you greet your prospect to the moment that your pitch finishes. Displaying confidence important, as if a client feels that you lack confidence during your pitch, they may not buy into your great ideas and propositions.

Once you start your presentation, let the confidence in your product shine through. Ensure that the client can see that you’re the expert on your product and that you’re convinced of the value that it can offer them.

Use statistics to back up your points

Statistics are a fantastic addition to any medical sales pitch as they add value to your points. A client looking to buy your product needs to understand that they will gain from what you’re offering, and potentially justify it to their superiors.

This is where you should incorporate some eye-opening data about your product so that you can give the prospect a better picture of how important the product could be to them. This provides a better platform for you to persuade the prospect that your product or service is a necessity for their business and secure a great deal.

Include visual aids

Meetings are more effective and productive when people are engaged from the beginning. Visual aids are a fantastic way of adding a more engrossing element to your sales pitch and can be used to support your message. 65% of the global population are visual learners, therefore you have a better chance of making your information stick with images, videos and more. Your visual aids must be clear, concise and of high quality to maintain the professionalism of your pitch.

Choose your visual aids wisely so you appeal to your audience. This means finding images your audience can relate to and images they will find familiar. A great way to incorporate visual aids into your presentation is to use graphs and charts to present data. As well as making the presentation more appealing, it also makes the statistics easier to understand and improves your chances of persuading a potential client.
