Medical Governance Officer / Medical Information Officer – Reading

Division: Pharmaceuticals 

Start Date:  ASAP

Job Type: Permanent

Employment Hours: Monday - Friday

Our client is currently recruiting a Medical Governance Officer to ensure adherence to industry-specific codes of practice or conduct, advertising codes, regulatory directives, and guidelines, as applicable to the role, and the Program for Legal Compliance and Corporate Responsibility. The Medical Governance Officer will confidently deliver effective training and present to large groups.

You will join a small, friendly team and have access to brilliant progression opportunities. The Medical Governance Officer will be exposed to colleagues at all levels and have many excellent opportunities to raise their profile within the business.

This exciting opportunity would be great for a person with proven written skills and meticulous attention to detail. Moreover, we are looking for an individual who will be continuously dedicated to the role and working self-sufficiently.

Your tasks will include:

  • To update and maintain the ABPI Code of Practice related SOPs and other Quality System Documents (QSDs) for the UK under the Head of Medical Governance direction.
  • To create and deliver effective training and validations on the requirements and application of the ABPI Code of Practice and the Medical Governance department's SOPs.
  • To communicate with stakeholders throughout the business, providing project support for the Medical Governance department when there are changes to legislation and guidance or code case rulings could impact pharma policies and processes.
  • With the Head of Medical Governance's direction, conduct, oversee, and manage regular process checks for both Head Office and Field Force activities, identifying required corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs) and overseeing and documenting their completion.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide expertise and advice regarding the ABPI Code of Practice and related SOPs/QSDs and be a point of contact for enquiries.

Who are you?

  • UK degree level or equivalent qualification.
  • Detailed knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice and MHRA guidelines for the promotion of medicines desirable.
  • A minimum of one year's experience in the pharmaceutical industry or of working in a compliance or auditing role
  • Experienced in document writing and management with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident when delivering training and able to present to large groups.
