Medical Science Liaison

Location: Leinster or Munster

Therapy Area: Cardiovascular

Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Medical Science Liaison to join a highly reputable medical affairs team, focusing on delivering excellence into the healthcare market and enhancing their image as an advocate of medical advancement within Cardiology.

The MSL is responsible for appropriate information exchange on scientific, education and research initiatives with the medical community at a peer to peer level, in addition to providing a scientific service to internal stakeholders alongside communicating effectively with Key Opinion Leaders and Thought Leaders. You will need to possess in depth scientific and technical knowledge of products and competitor products and relevant therapeutic areas.

You will also be working with our internal customers to develop and execute plans designed to meet shared business/clinical objective and support the sales force on scientific insight to assist the development of commercially beneficial relationships.

To apply you will need experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences, pharmacology or medicine. Advanced degree in science-related field eg. MD, PharmD, PhD preferred.
  • Minimum two year’s prior MSL experience, preferably within Cardiology.
  • Deep understanding of the local health system with demonstrable credibility with KOL’s and other key clinicians/health experts
  • Strong scientific / clinical understanding
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Full and valid driving license
  • First hand research experience in the life sciences is strongly preferred, such as a post-doctoral position, ideally with training/mentoring experience of junior colleagues
  • High quality academic/scientific writing experience is essential e.g. publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Able to demonstrate experience of delivering presentations of technical/scientific material to high standards e.g. at international conferences
  • Fully conversant with the requirements of the IPHA code
